“Long Strange Trip” Debuts at Sundance

On January 23, 2017 at the Sundance Music Festival, the long-awaited film “Long Strange Trip”, documenting the history of the Grateful Dead all the way from its roots in the 1960s counterculture of the Bay Area. Directed by Amir Bar-Lev, this 235 minute film features executive producers Martin Scorsese, as well as Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann among many other talented filmmakers.

Many of the films archival stills, footage, audio tracks and live performances have never been seen or heard. Bob described the film as, “Stranger than fiction — a user’s guide for an impossible journey.” With that note, it’s clearly a must-see.

“Long Strange Trip” will debut in six parts on Amazon Prime Video on May 26, 2017.
